St Lawrence

Leake Road Gotham

Situated along the A453, the Church of St Lawrence, Gotham is a small worshipping community with ancient roots. It is one of five Churches that make up the A453 group of Churches, the others being St George at Barton-in-Fabis, St Winifred at Kingston-on-Soar, Holy Trinity at Ratcliffe-on-Soar, and All Saints at Thrumpton.

There has been an established Christian community living and worshipping in the village of Gotham for hundreds of years, and we continue to meet together Sunday by Sunday, as God's family united by God's Son Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, as we seek to encourage one another to live as His obedient children.

To that end all Church members are encouraged to join a Bible study group which, as well as learning more about God and His ways through Bible study, provides an opportunity for fellowship and the discussion of issues from a Christian perspective.

If you would like to know more about how knowing Jesus brings meaning, purpose and fulfilment to our lives and how we can know God personally, why not visit the Discover Jesus web site.

Safeguarding: Ensuring that children and young people are kept safe whilst in our care is an integral part of our Church life. If you have any concerns about safeguarding then please do get in touch with our Safeguarding Officers.

Children and young people are very welcome to any of our services, and our congregations are made up of a broad range of people, including families with young and grown-up children, pensioners, young professionals, and many others.

Sunday Club for children aged 4 to 12 years meets each week in the Church Hall (opposite the Church) from 11 to 12, and children can be dropped off from 10:30.

If you are looking to get married or to have your child baptised then you'll find details on our web site.

St Lawrence Church is open every Saturday from 10:00am to 12:00pm. On Tuesday we have a short Communion service at 10:30am followed by tea and cake in church.

We look forward to meeting you.
You can be assured of a warm welcome in all our Churches.
